So the protest in Skopje took place in front of the government building April 2nd at 13:00 local time. There were approximately 50 people that joined the protest. In a very relaxed atmosphere, some of the people were interviewed by the mainstream media. So after 40 and something minutes we headed towards the Parliament, through the city square. So after about an hour or so, we went in a small park near the “house of the army” (translated literally), and we took a break where the protest was officially ended. The protest was peaceful as agreed by everyone.
Was the protest successful? Well the truth is Macedonia wasn’t invited in NATO because of us or our protest. We are aware that in this country large percent of the people want Macedonia to enter NATO, mostly because they “think” NATO means stability in the region. I wonder where they’ve got the idea. The protest was successful to us, because new contacts were established; it was a valuable experience to all of us, especially in the organizing part. We worked together, everything that was there was from us, we had no leader and yet we managed to organize ourselves, hmmmm what an interesting idea ;)
Smash NATO!
